Concert Summary

Long Island’s Blue Oyster Cult was in their rock ’n’ roll prime when this concert was taped at Boston’s Music Hall in October 1976. A DVD of this tour would later be released but as far as audio recordings, this is one of the best BOC live shows captured in that era.

This recording, although only containing five songs, is a good cross section of the band’s musical landscape. Featuring older classics like "Cities On Flame With Rock And Roll" from their first album; newer tracks "Morning Final” and "This Ain’t The…entire summary

My all-time best concert was front-row seats for the Secret Treaties tour (aka On Your Feet), but they have put on fantastic shows in Santa Cruz recently, too.

These guys still Rock Out! I saw them in 1973 in Chicago, and have been a fan ever since. One of the best concerts I ever saw was BOC, UFO & Rush all on the same bill at the Aragon BRAWL Room in Chicago, 1974. They started with The Red & The Black with the BOC Flag being lowered during the opening chords of the song. Still gives me goosebumps everytime I hear that opening riff!

Probably the most energetic performance by any band I have ever heard. The cover of Born to be Wild is fantastic!

My first ever concert was BOC in 1979 in Cedar Rapids with Brownsville (formerly Station) opening. I still have the $8 ticket stub and poster promoting show. Saw them two years later w/ Foghat...and many times after. Recently was last summer opening for ALICE COOPER on the fair circuit. Still sound great.

Soft White Underbelly will always be my favorite band. A thinking man's heavy metal band is the best description I ever heard. Why they are not in the R&R Hall of Fame is a travesty!

I'm 99% sure that this concert was broadcast long long ago by the King Biscuit Flower Hour. My old casstte tape of that show has the exact same set list and song versions. Recording quality is poor, but you gotta love BOC!

Saw them about 8 times between 1974-2005 and spent a couple hours with Eric and Don (Buck) in the 70's. Exceptionally tight and imaginative band in their first decade. I've met most major bands and feel this one was one of the most under-rated. I'm surprised they are still touring. Hope they do it for the music-fun.

This was my first BOC concert. I had seen Yes, just prior to this show, and was impressed by their laser light show. BOC lasers blew me away. (Not to mention the killer set list). I ended up going to every show they played in Fresno Ca. after that. (4 more in the 70s).Long Live WV!!

Caught them in Syracuse NY back in Feb 1980. Shooting Star and Rossington-Collins Band opened, in what as I recall, the most stoned crowd I've every seen at a show.I've seen everyone from AC/DC to ZZ TOP and I've never seen a crowd so out of it. I mean people couldn't even clap their hands or cheer. Shooting Star had a decent set and was an underrated band IMO. Rossington-Collins was spot on, even though Gary was very intoxicated. Gary's's wife had a nice set of pipes and it's a shame they lasted only a short period of time. Cult played a short set as I remember and was not thrilled by the lack of audience participation. The highlight of the night was Free Bird, which was performed without vocals. The stage was dark, except for a lone spotlight on the mike stand. Peace
