Concert Summary

This, the first of two shows recorded at New York's famed Bottom Line club, was presented on a tour designed to be a comeback for blue-eyed soul belter Bonnie Bramlett. Although she had released one solo album on Columbia Records after the dissolution of both her marital and musical partnership with singer/songwriter/guitarist Delaney Bramlett in 1972, she had stopped recording and touring for a while to raise their daughter, Bekka. Eventually, she returned to the music scene and moved over to the Southern rock home base of Capricorn Records; this tour was essentially her rock 'n' roll…entire summary

I saw her open up for Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Mosque in Richmond, VA, in February, 1975. Indeed, I wrote a review called "Richmond Rabble Alienates Bramlett's Blues" for the campus newspaper, the Commonwealth Times. She was in support of her Capricorn Record "It's About Time," which featured Cowboy as the prime backing band. Great show futzed up by the Richmond redneck rabble rambling and heckling a great performer. Oh, and "Can't Find My Way Home" is by Blind Faith, by the way.

bloozman12. Friday28th. Great Show! I still dig out my old albums once in a while & the Delaney & Bonnie On Tour /w ith Eric Clapton still has this type of soul/blues to it. to longisland surfer- Can't find my way home is from Blind Faith- Clapton- Winwood days, not the Byrds- (maybe you confused it with Can't You see my face-Byrds), one too many spills @ Gilgo or Ditch Plains??

I was listening to a concert from The Byrds where they were performing Eight Miles High... and I was thinking to myself how different it sounded and that it reminded me of Delaney & Bonnie's Living on the Open Road... so after listening to the Byrds I searched for Delaney and Bonnie but only found Bonnie... I come to this page and listen to Living on the Open Road, and I say to myself... ok, I guess they don't really sound alike, but... low and behold... there's the song titled Can't Find My Way Home, by the Byrds! There must be a God. xoxo
