In 1970, Bonnie Raitt was a 20 year old musician on the Boston area folk scene, where she initially established her reputation. A singer, aspiring songwriter and bottleneck-style guitar player with a passion for the blues, she would be recognized by the 65-year-old Cambridge blues promoter and manager, Dick Waterman, an important figure in the blues revival of the 1960s.     Dick Waterman was indeed an important figure in the blues revival of the 1960s, but in 1970 he was just 35 years old, not 65 (born 1935, per Wikipedia). He may have seemed really old, but only by comparison...his photographic memoir of that era, Between Midnight And Day is well worth reading.

    Just exceptional work all around by the band members. The slide work on track 8 is nothing short of luminous.
