Concert Summary

When Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young abruptly split apart at the end of 1970, it seemed as though the world's first supergroup would become yet another casualty of drugs, alcohol, egotism, greed, and political infighting that had become so familiar in the world of rock stars. By the end of their initial run (1968 through 1970), CSNY was known as much for their backstage fistfights and legendary episodes of drug abuse, as they were for two brilliant studio albums (entire summary

No, Nixon resigned in August; Gerald Ford pardoned him the day of this concert. My sister and I were there and just missed making the Daily News Photo of someone toking some weed. If the photo were 2 feet further back, Dad would have seen his kids getting high. The concert was great aside from CSN&Y; really dug Tom Scott and the LA Express by themselves and with Joni. Oh, yeah---Evel Knievel did his infamous Snake River Canyon jump that day, too.

I saw them at Denver Mile High stadium, August 1974. with Beach Boys and Jesse Colin Young. I remember being there and seeing all three bands but we dropped acid and that was just about the size of that.

I was fortunate to finally see these guys here in Long Island in 2002 and it was as great as this 74 concert. This Wooden ships by far is one of the best, The 02 was equally great!!
