my first concert was this tour of ELO in Chicago back when you bought a ticket on the floor for the price that was printed on the ticket. DON'T LET THE LAZERS HIT YOUR EYEBALLS, THEY WILL EXPLODE!!!!! Very good concert.

i never got to see e.l.o. with jeff lynne, only as (elo pt 2) with ex members, i was sorry to hear that kelly pass away back in february this year, i see that this show was taken from the time of the great (face the music) album, can,t forget the great album cover with the electric chair, for that album, it,s got some great tracks that album, (evil women, strange magic, waterfall, one summer dream, & fire on high,) to name a few, but e.l.o. went on to do more brillant work after this album, with (a new world record, out of the blue, discovery, & time) please let,s have more this great band, maybe something from the time tour in 1982, god bless...kelly groucutt we will miss you, pete007 u.k.

I saw ELO at the Montreal Forum on Sept 4, 1976. Much like Anonymous, the green lasers still remain front of mind. I had the Face the Music album and loved the show. Still remember playing the album backwards at the beginning of Fire on High. "The music is reversible, but time is not. Turn back, turn back......"

Saw them at Cobo Hall, Detroit (Rock City!). Perhaps today their "show" would not seem like much. Back then, we'd never seen a laser. All of a sudden there were these green narrow beams of light throughout the arena. It was magical. I also think they may have been the ones who introduced me to Boz Scaggs during the pre-recorded music before the show started.

Ancientrocker seems to be the only one who thinks ELO ever lipsynced. They had plenty of backing tracks, which they thought were necessary at the time for the choral, orchestral and sound-effects parts. I'd have preferred them without, but I'm pretty sure they never cheated. As for this alleged Anaheim incident (which as an ELO fan since 1978 I would surely have heard of by now) "ending" them: what? With their biggest hits like Mr Blue Sky, Don't Bring Me Down etc yet to come, I don't think this band were past their peak in 1976. 1982, perhaps, yes. This is a fine recording of a well-rehearsed band.

ELO was a great band, too bad they got caught lip syncin in Anaheim. It ended them. It was stupid and unnecessary.

I caught ELO both nights at MSG on the Out of the Blue tour w/that spaceship and the laser lites and the awesome opening song "Standing in the Rain"... had like front row seats one of those night... just another great show in NYC back then!
