Concert Summary

The British blues rocker plays it safe with a hit-filled set of radio classics for this concert, originally recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour. Opening with a lengthy piano intro, he breaks into a jumpin' version of "Tulsa Time," which is followed by a very soulful rendition of Bob Marley's "I Shot The Sheriff." Clocking in at over seven minutes, it features one of the best solos of the entire show. Wow, Clapton's soloing is great on every song. Especially on I Shot The Sheriff. I really wish I could afford to see him in concert. Clapton is god.

I saw this tour @ The James L. Knight Center in Miami, maybe 10 days before this show. Eric was totally on fire!! He played, "I Shot the Sheriff" as the 3rd number and when he let loose with a ripping solo, the crowd jumped out of their seats and rushed the stage. Security was powerless to stop them and they let the crowd stay down front at the stage. Eric responded with one amazing solo after another on every song. George Terry showed up to jam with Eric and he got a lesson on why they call him, "God". The funny thing is, I went to the show @ Holmdel, NJ and it was the worst show I saw Eric play.(approximately 2 weeks apart) Go figure...

Dont like version of layla sounds too fast with drums like 1980s heavy metal. Steve Gadd plays drums much better

Great concert but the end solo on Badge is by Tim Renwick - a great guitarist whose work has graced Pink Floyd, Al Stewart, Gy Brooker and many others.
