hello old friend...we used to play this song over and over again while drinking tuba (coconut wine) back home in northside...

Clean, straight "Hello, Old Friend," decent run on "Sign Language" w/G. Terry on solo. Who's backing harp on "Knockin'"? Tasty version, much improved with a thick spliff/blunt. Raucous opening/free-time to "Blues Power," but a far distant to the volcanic/seduction free-time opening to this beauty from the Derek & Dominoes Fillmore '70 shows... strong rip on "Layla" from Eric's 461 Ocean band, Eric's axe on this recording/tour? Blackie? Strat run through stacks of...? Can't be a Gibson Firebird, please agree or tell me I'm drunk. Spliffs to all. Overall, 3.0 stars out of 5, still fun as hell.

This version of Layla seems quite aimless and unstructured.

Nothing like the very best. Clapton's 64 years old and still can rock. God Bless EC

Slowhand was in Charlotte, NC a couple of years ago....wonderful concert. He was with Robert Cray. He did Layla, the old version not the bluesy one, and brought the house down. He also sang "Old Love" and I cried. Hope to see him again.
