Concert Summary

After distinguishing himself and achieving a level of recognition in Europe, like Eric Clapton before him, Peter Green departed John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in 1967, freeing himself of employment and artistic restrictions. However, unlike most of the British guitar greats, Green was never concerned with flash or becoming a guitar superstar. This humble attitude and his approach to music…entire summary

How about a Kiln House era concert with Chris? Gotta be one somewhere...

this is a great site! whoever thought of this idea THANK YOU! Great comments by you all! I dug the original Fleetwood Mac many times back then catching their live jam around Detroit area concert halls & smaller clubs. They were one of the best groups of special time in music. Every weekend seemed to bring another great act to a local spot such as the Grande or later the Eastown. The lineup with Green, Kirwan, Spencer on guitars was my favorite. The Madge Sessions sound better every time I hear them!!!!

Peter Green's band came to my town a few years ago. They were tight, he got a couple of good solos in, but the other guitarist carried most of it. Sad in a way but I appreciated him being there nonetheless for whatever reason. I met him in the lobby and got his and the rest of the band's autographs on their CD. Peter looked spaced but I thanked him for all his great playing anyway. I agree with BB King's assessment of Peter Green as being the best of the white British blues guys, though for the USA Mike Bloomfield is his peer IMO.

Peter had only two months to go in Mac when this as recorded. The April trip to Munich saw him dosed on very powerful LSD after which, unfortunately, he collapsed into his well know psychological nightmare. What a shame! Danny too, in two years time he would leave the band and begin his sad journey as a homeless indigent. When they played like this, no one could touch them. No one.

Peter Green is my all-time favorite guitarist. Chuck Berry and Keith Richards are probably number 2 and 3.

Let's get one thing straight for sure. Peter Green is the greatest white blues guitarist of all time surpassing Clapton and everyone. What d'you all say?

Peter oh Peter, how wonderful this band was with you in the driver's seat! I don't know how I stumbled onto this website but thank you.

kudos to the historic view, I want more. 68-72 was the absolute best in Live music. What has happened? Some good shows yes, The Tubes and many others, but 68-72 had some magic on all of them. and i will add no click tracks or fixing it in the edits. Great show. Thanks
