Concert Summary

This show has been counted among the "Holy Grail" items for Genesis fans, as it's rumored to be one of the only professional recordings made on the band's final tour with Peter Gabriel. Recorded on the band's celebrated 1975 Lamb Lies Down on Broadway tour, this show features the entire Lamb rock opera, plus an encore of the band's classic 1971 opus, "The Musical Box."

This show, recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour, was taken from a tour that was particularly interesting for the fact that …entire summary

Wow. LAMB complete live. Crazy ambitious - with all the lush interludes and atmospheric meanderings. The recording was for a radio broadcast? Strangely inconsistent... vocals and instrumentation come in and out - at times it sounds primarily like a room mike - by the end it sounds studio - like. This is so great to have access to, thanks powers that be.

I was fortunate enough to see Genesis several times in their 'hey day' with Peter. I saw this tour as well at the Capital Theater in NJ.

Fantastic concert! These five guys need to get over themselves and just rock again! One last time! Come on boys, I know you can do it! Just don't play anything past 1981 (Sorry Invisible Touch fans)!

I saw the "Lamb" live in NYC way back in the day. One of the few concerts I can still remember in detail. Peter was fantastic!

Saw this tour in Berkeley, CA. At the Berkeley Community Theater, my high school auditorium, it was a wonderful show, even better then this one because there was no feedback. All the costumes you'd ever expect from Peter Gabriel.

I became aware of Genesis when Trick came out. Soon followed by Wind. Then I heard they were playing at Maple Leaf Gardens and saw a live proformance with amazing lights that I still today remembered everytime I look at my Seconds Out album jacket. Never have I seen a light show as good as that. Then I heard that the original singer had left and that little guy was the the drummer. I soon went after the back cataloge to heard Peter Gabriel sing. I loved all the music the band did. I know Peter was the original singer, though Phil did well on the older songs I heard on Seconds. But with out a doubt, Peter and Steve were the members then who keep this band who it was. Tony was the best keybord player in any progessive rock band. I did not like anything Genesis did after Wind. I love to hear these old live proformances. I just wish i had seen Peter play with the band in the early days. I really love listening to Seconds Out. I wish now it was Peter in the album. I need more good early live recordings of Genesis. Peter's solo work was impressive. I was ablr to see him a couple of times, and enjoyed it. Great band with him. I have one of Steve's solo albums and hated Phil as a solo artist. Too comercial and on the radio far to much. Could not go see the last Genesis tour knowing they were playing the later genesis material. It would be brilliant to have them do a Lamb tour with no post gabriel material plyed. That I would go see as often as I could. I have not bought any of the Box stes, but by all acounts the first box is the one to get.
