I've been enjoying the Airplane's music since "Surrealistic Pillow" came out in '67 and have heard many live shows on vinyl and CD. This particular show is a very interesting example of the band playing a wide variety of material including songs from their first album through songs that would appear on "Crown of Creation". Very high caliber performances throughout. Nice bass solo from Jack on "Pooneil". Too bad it's not mixed in stereo but the sound quality is very good. Highly recommended.

Jack Casady, the genius, at work here everybody. The Bass Guitar being redefined as a rock instrument before your very ears. How laid back is this compared to concerts now? Just one big family of hippies here. I'll bet the band knew half of the audience. It sure was a good time to be alive, and it's important to remember that this was before the evolution of getting mindlessly wasted for the sake of simply being high. The people listening out there are tuned in to a wavelength that was more religious than anything else. This was sacramental music for the entire hippie culture, and people that don't listen to it in that context are missing an integral part of the whole shared experience. Try it, you'll like it!

Love the Airplane and this concert just reminds me of Why! This is one of their best Live Performance I've ever heard. So tight, yet so loose, and very Psychedelic... And Trippy........

this is very good tape, glad to give a listen. However there is a gap in the ja collection, how come there is no material from the "Bark" era, I saw them play at Gaelic Park in the Bronx,Ny. Aug 1971,it was a great show.
