After years of life on the road and with their role models, the Allman Brothers Band, struggling to survive the deaths of two of its most distinctively talented members, today Lynyrd Skynyrd has become the quintessential Southern Rock band. Under the leadership of frontman and primary songwriter Ronnie Van Zant, the group's melodic lyric driven ballads and power driven hard rockers would catapult the group into one of the most popular touring bands in the world. The group's distinctive guitar attack, combined with an overtly defiant and rebellious attitude, gave them a cultural identity…entire summary

Geez, I just recalled I lived less than a couple miles from Winterland when this concert occurred. If only we knew then, what we know nowthen...would have been there. Of all the Superbands that came through the bay Area in the 70's, LYn Skn was my main regret of missing a show...saw numerous Days on the Green, etc., but dates never coincided with LS

Just through the first song...first I have heard this one. Pure Lyn Syn rockin...nice vocal by the backups, who can be heard real clear. Great...what more can we say. Love these guys forever.

BOSS JR: for a guy who thinks so little of Skynyrd, then why are you even over here? You should be chatting with your "Boss" buddies. The fact that your hero even pretends to be able to play a Tele is more of a farce than Madonna holding her Les Paul.

Hey need downloads, why don't you give jethro tull a grammy over metallica. Thats what the pseusdo musically intelligent are known for. Skynyrd had it all attitude, swagger, and chops for days, They were the tighest live of all the bands you mentioned, and with no gimmicks. They came on stage, and kicked ass in jean and tee-shirts. Thats what skynyrd was about, and the epitmee of a "rock-band" The pseudo music intellectuals are always clueless to that. Again see Jethro Tull heavy metal grammies and comments like yours.

pmil7991 | Friday, April 24, 2009 | 8:08 am So why was T For Texas left off the released Authorized Bootleg CD but is on the download? Another excellent question that will be ignored and remain unanswered by Wolfgang's Vault.......!
