Concert Summary

Two words for Crosby, Stills and Nash - Crazy Horse! This is rock 'n' roll as it was meant to be played: barely in tune and teetering on the brink of oblivion. No wonder Neil Young preferred rockin' in the free world with these guys over CSN's cuddle-folk round-up. You can hear the blood and sweat in every stuttering guitar jab, Danny Whitten's raspy tenor the perfect counterpoint to Neil's wavering holler.

Recently plucked from obscurity as a Laurel Canyon garage band, the Horse is in fine form during this appearance…entire summary

Anonymous I Believe you because I was there. They replayed Cinnamon Girl as the encore. They were second billed to Miles Davis I can't remember a third group that night.

I saw Neil and Crazy Horse when they were touring for Greendale several years ago. The crowd wouldn't go home without 3 encores. I read his biography, Shakey. It's worthwhile for all fans. He apparantly had polio as a youngster and acquired the nickname shakey, shakey records etc followed. Chronicles his life from Toronto to the ranch in Santa Cruz.

I love the "Downtown" starter. Just blazing energy. Mostly new songs at the time so they played them with eagerness. Well worth a listen. This is one of my favorite concerts on the vault.

The world's finet garage band! My cousin laid Rust Never Sleeps on me and my finger have been bleeding since! Speed don't kill and Neil's the proof!
