Concert Summary

Among the most important of all the British progressive rock bands to emerge from the late-1960s, Procol Harum underwent several personnel changes from the time they released "Whiter Shade Of Pale" in 1967 to when they stopped making albums ten years later. I was at this show and thought the highlight was the entire band up at the front of the stage strumming banjos and guitars on Souvenir of London.

rob c wednesday, july 30 1:30 pm bj wilson was the most underrated drummer ever. Great style and feel and truly missed. Gary Brooker is all class, very few songwriters have that kind of touch. Last time I saw them was summer of 1975-kennedy center in washington, d.c. A truly unforgettable show.

Procol Harem has been one of my top favs for 30 years and I never tire of listening. When my apartment burned down 2 years ago Procol Harem CDs were on the first round of replacement orders. So many songs I love - can't go over them all, but no one has ever done "Whiter Shade of Pale" better, and how many bands have the guts to do Chaucer for gods sake? Thank you Procol Harem members for so many years of enjoying a great body of music. Even though you've made me cry I don't hold it against you; the tears were from one who almost cannot bear the beauty. XXXXOOO

Procol Harum was an outrageous band. Listening to this says it all. Gary Brooker was right up there with Jack Bruce in terms of being a vocalist who had the gravitas and soulfulness to sing epic songs without sounding foolish or pretentious. The musicianship and writing are awesome. I never saw them live but these recordings say it all. Just a top band of all time. Thanks.

Wow! Shiver inducing, particularly hearing B. J. Wilson's fill right before the break on Simple Sister. My sister took me to PH on this tour for my birthday. What memories! Thanks for this wonderful service!
