Concert Summary

Although Slade saw their biggest commercial success between 1972 and 1974, they were still riding high on the rock 'n' roll mountain when they recorded this show at London's New Victoria Theatre. It was captured for BBC Radio1 as the second part of the "Insight" radio show entitled "Six Days On The Road" that was transmitted in August of 1975.

Formed in 1966 in the English industrial midlands as the N'Betweens the band soon built up a formidable following on the live circuit playing their own versions of contemporary rock covers and obscure U.S. R&B records. A name change to Ambrose…entire summary

If you Slade guys ever get to read these, get together again and play just one more time.....even if it's just for yourselves. If audience is invited, how about looking through the old fan club archives, I for one would be there with my crystal beamer, my Flame paperback and all the other bits of Slade memorabilia. If not for the faithful do it for yourselves, you guys were a gift. Keep on rockin.

I remember listening to this broadcast on a Sunday afternoon while playing football.I took a radio with me so as not to miss it. Had failed to get to my dad to get me a ticket for the Bham show of this tour so this recording is a god - send. The best band ever at the peak of their creativity and so much success behind them. Been a fan since Look Wot U Dun. Well said you guys (or girls). Slade will live forever. Best ever song ......Look At Last Nite

as a fan of the band from an early age and seeing them on many occasions i can say it wasn't so much as a concert, more like a tribal gathering, a bit like the other unknown so called british band, status quo, even touts wouldn't be there because nobody would give up any tickets, it really was always a real sell out, if you went there on the night trying to get in you'd go home early!!!!!

Great performance and really a shame they are still relatively unknown in the States. Slade was too hard-rocking for AM airplay and didn't fit in with the pretentious FM radio of the day. Rythm sections don't get much tigther than this- Slade rocked and had fun at the same time.

Najlepszy koncert Slade jaki slyszalem w zyciu! Pio

The best live band ever. They never made it big in the US but they were huge everywhere else, and so they should have been, every songs a hit. Noddy's vocals are from a throat forged from tungsten steel, Jim Lea is the best bassist you ever heard, Dave Hlll, showman extraordinaire, Don Powell, the human drum machine never drops a beat. I saw them once and no one else came close, The Who, Led Zep, Van Halen, and I am not on crack, Slade just were not fashionable enough for the press.

Brilliant performance by Noddy & company! Electric energy at its screeching best!!! Rock on, Slade - you were one of the best live bands, ever!!!
