Concert Summary

Following sets by the Charlie Daniels Band and The Marshall Tucker Band, The Allman Brothers Band take the stage. Understandably, this night never reaches the incredible heights of the previous night and is a far more relaxed affair in comparison. Still there are enjoyable moments and some interesting guests joining them onstage.

I remember seeing the ABB at The Capital Theater. Belushi was the warmup act and sang Hey Bartender and Soul Man. He was doing cartwheels across the stage.....LOL....he was very entertaining. I remember hearing Dicky sing Southbound Mama for the first time. After the show while waiting for the bus back to the city, I nodded off and had to wait for the next bus. They ran every two hours. Looking back, well worth it. Great show.

Hey MONK I was at that 1979 ABB Captiol show... 4/20/79.. great to have them back at that point.. even scored free seats to the palladium show on 4/24 because I was wearing a WLIR t shirt whilst trying to scalp tix and a DJ from the station saw me (Micheal Ross) and dropped those tix in my hands..I FREAKED out and had great seats on the floor... whatta week that was!

Having been there at the ripe age of 18 this really excites me now at 52 to hear it again. Can't say I remember all of it but what a trip! Wanted those tickets for new years eve but sold out fast. And now a Chance to hear it to! Many more concerts later I still think the ones at Cow Palace and Winterland were some of the very best. Seen some others I went to on here also,an awful lot I wished I went to! Great Site! WOW! Wish you could find Eager Winter at the Crest Theater in Sacramento great acoustics.

It's not so much that the performance's are "laid back" or played at a "slower pace", but that the tape is in need of a pitch adjustment!
