Concert Summary

No band embodies all the best aspects of British punk rock better than The Clash: fast and furious songs delivered like machine gun fire - check; politically volatile lyrics -double check; paramilitary-cum-bondage fashion - certainly in the early days; an incorporation of American R&B and Jamaican Dub and Reggae influences - eventually; working class attitude and a predilection for violence - definitely; recklessly fabulous live performances - like none other.

While others were busy nettling the establishment with…entire summary

This was the ONLY time I was able to see "The Clash" live: I was there and it was a BALL. I'll never forget it. Remember Joe Strummer because he did matter. Cheers & Thanks

Looking at the world today, particularly what's going on in Iran, we sure could use more of the Clash. If only they could come from 1979 to today and perform in Tehran for the brave, angry freedom seekers there.

My first ever gig was in London in the 70's, and it was the Clash. Pure Rock 'n' Roll excitement with no BS, nothing like it since really. R.I.P Joe, long live the Clash.

"London's Burning", "Janie Jones", "White Riot"; what more could I ask for? (OK...the 'London's Calling' concert!) This concert rocks so much, *I* nearly collapsed just *listening* to it!! Mick Jones' guitar sounds like it's coming through an outter space vacuum cleaner. Joe Strummer's vocals are fiercely slurred. The rhythm section of Topper Headon and Paul Simonon are propulsive. "Yaaaaaaarrrrrhhh!!!" THE CLASH!!!

The Clash is one of my all time favorite bands. and I was raised listening to gumdrops and loolipops, or some such drivel, I wanna be bobby's girl. lol. Aw, what crap that all was. I was gonna just say, rest in peace, Joe Strummer, but not just hell no. But Fuckin' Hell NO! Keep asking questions and demanding answers, Joe!
