Featuring a 21-year-old Mick Taylor on lead guitar, this song and the subsequent tour to follow would certify The Stones as the most compelling, if not greatest rock and roll band in the world. Over the course of Taylor's live performing tenure with the band (1969-1973), Mick Jagger and Kieth Richards were at the pinnacle of their songwriting powers, writing many of the classics that have come to define the band. As much as Jagger and…entire summary

"He could play guitar just like ringin' a bell" Chuck Berry sang that about Johnny B. Goode but, on this night, Keith Richards was playing like a bomb had went off in Chuck Berry's belltower.....he drives and Mick fights back...together the two make rock history..never were they better..before or after...

How do you make the greatest Rock N Roll band ever better? One work Mick Taylor. Midniight Rambler is unbelieveable. I seen them 4 times (all at Madison Sqr Garden) and by far the best show was the Ya Yas tour (with Mick Taylor)

The Stones with Mick Taylor were downright dangerous. If the guitar is the instrument of expression in rock-n-roll, the Stones lost their color palette when he split. Keith/ Mick tunes are down and dirty rockers, but Mick added so much beauty and counter-point of talented technique to Keith's blood-n-guts - it just made for a perfect mix. Ron Wood is a good guitar player, but Mick had that fire. Great while it lasted. I'd kill for a quality "Live Stones w/ Mick Taylor" box set. They were a different band altogether with Mick.
