This extensive set from the Thompson Twins comes from the group’s peak commercial year, 1984. Formed by guitarist/keyboardist Tom Bailey in the late 1970s, the Thompson Twins embodied everything that the MTV era stood for: over-the-top alternative fashion and hair, wildly dramatic performances, and a heavy reliance on programmed sounds and synthesizers.

    Yes they took out a full band on tour, but they also used backing tapes in order to produce such a fat sound. If you listen carefully, you can even discern pre-recorded backing vocal tracks of Tom Bailey singing the chorus to Doctor! Doctor!, Day After Day, and other songs.

    Great show! Much better sound than on the "Into The Gap" live vhs tape. A few corrections though. Thompson Twins always took out a full band when on tour. This was the lineup for this show.
