Concert Summary

Formed in England in 1969, UFO began as a hard rocking outfit with plenty of emphasis on space-rock and riff-heavy boogie. Their first two albums bore a passing resemblance to early Deep Purple with a healthy dose of the space-metal of Hawkwind mixed in. thanks for having this treasure. i can't overstate what this group and its guitarist meant to me in my teens and early 20's, particularly with force it. caesar_x...you exaggerate. so it's not doctored and sanitized with studio overdubs and assorted trickery. no, michael doesn't hit every last note perfectly, but the imperfections are not what you make them out to be, and are far overshadowed by the budding virtuousity displayed in abundance elsewhere here. i believe he was all of about 17 years old here...and already far beyond the vast majority of rock guitarists. you needn't resort to the cheap shots. perhaps YOU were drunk...when you listened to this?

Where can I buy the CD!!!! Saw UFO lIve in 1977/8 timeframe - Aragon Ball Room in Chicago with OffBroadway, and a little known band back then Journey - Steve Perry's first show with them. UFO headlined and was great..

This is definitely a raw, high-power concert and I enjoy listening to it. But Schenker's playing is so uneven and sloppy in parts (Doctor Doctor is a perfect example) that I wonder if he was drunk when this was recorded.

I've listened to this show more than any other on this site. Just keep coming back to it --- it's so fresh.

ufo rocks. they were a big influence on what would become heavy metal. michael schenker is one of the true guitar heroes of the 1970's. this is a great show. i saw them about this time.
