Concert Summary

Few bands have managed to capture the essence of a time and place like X. Creatively light years ahead of contemporaries like Black Flag and the Germs, this quartet of Los Angelans trod the often imperceptible line between amateurish simplicity and fine art. Rather than "Good Vibrations" polish or glitzy, Aqua-Net-and-spandex sleaze, this is the REAL sound of Southern California: desperate and desolate, but still looking cool and ready to party.

Though punk was, in some ways, a reaction to the lingering…entire summary

What more can be said? There's no band like them and there never will be...ever again! My sis was going through some shit at the time and JD overheard me talking about it backstage, insisted I give him her phone number and he called to give her his best wishes. One of a kind!

Saw them on the 31st anniversary tour, just as kick ass as ever. This show reminded me of the time John sat on a curb with me in Pittsburgh back in '83 (now gone Syria Mosque), before the show smoking homegrown and drinking Blatz 16 oz'ers. One of a kind rock musician.

A truly great, unique, original band! They don't sound dated at all. Still can kick it hard live. Awesome!!!

Just saw X on their 31st Reunion tour in Atlanta. Awesome Show. Still got it. Billy Zoom is in his own world. Awesome.

Great document of L.A.'s finest at the peak of their career. Live, X never strayed far from the course but their working of True Love Pt. 2 was hypnotic and Billy's guitar in Devil Doll is unbelievable. This is the greatest hits collection performed live. thanks for letting me hear it. the worlds still a mess...
